Sugar Cookies

Simple sugar cookies with a soft and chewy texture, perfect for any season!

3 C flour
¾ tsp baking powder
1 C butter, softened
1 C sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp milkdsc02770
3/4 tsp almond extract (or vanilla, or lemon!)

Directions

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

Cream the butter and sugar. Add in the egg and milk, mix until combined.dsc02772

Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed. Dough may take a while to come together, so give it a minute before adding more milk.

Wrap dough in wax paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Roll out dough on a smooth surface until ¼ inch thick.dsc02774

Cut out desired shapes.

Bake for 7-9 minutes at 375 (watch the edges for burning!)

Orange Cake

A delicious, simple recipe that’s perfect for any occasion – or no occasion at all!

Ingredients
2 C flourdsc02746
½ tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
1 ½ C sugar
½ C milk
½ C orange juice
½ C vegetable oil
3 eggs, beaten
1 ½ tsp fresh orange zestdsc02751

Directions

Combine wet ingredients (milk, orange juice, oil, eggs) and orange zest.

Sift together salt, flower and baking powder, then mix in the sugar

Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and pour in wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.dsc02753

Divide batter evenly between two 9’ cake pans.

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes (more or less, depending on your oven).
